Hamburg is constantly changing and for the most part for the good. It is exciting to be able to take part in this development. There is even always something new for locals to discover every day in Hamburg.
A completely new neighbourhood is evolving in this port city, while the adjacent Speicherstadt, built as a warehouse complex at the end of the 19th century, forms the connection to the Kontorhausviertel neighbourhood. There are still nooks and crannies here that take you back to the time of sailing vessels and colonial era. Although the port of Hamburg is transforming to one of the world's largest commercial seaports with state-of-the-art container handling system over the next few years, it is still possible to find many old remnants of the romantic harbour. The Alster Canal and other canals with the many  grenrich the hanseatic shopping experience with their offerings. In short, Hamburg is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany - in fact for some people the most beautiful city.
In many cases we are too busy, concentrating on traffic, to notice the beautiful parts of the city, while we drive by. Or we miss the relatively brief moments, as when the transition from day into night becomes an amazing sight. Assuming that the weather is co-operating and the view is not obstructed by a building site. There are always wonderful days when a photographer can set up his tripod and wait for the sun to set. Nonetheless, the weather is always good when the subject is Hamburg.
