Blue
This colour has an unusual and almost indescribable effect on the eye. As colour it is an energy; alone it stands on the negative side and is, in its pure form, a fascinating nothing. There is something antithetical, a contrast of attraction andquiet in ist appearance.
As we see blue in the high heavans and distant mountains, so a blue surface seems to retreat from us. As we are fond of following attractive objects which flee from us, so we like to behold blue, not because it forces itselfupon us, but because it attracts us to it. Blue gives us a feeling of cold, and reminds us of shadows.“ 
Thus wrote Goethe in this Theory of Colour on the colour blue. For this postcard book, 30 photographs on the subject blue were collected - various objects and materials of different character, sharing the colour blue as governing impression. The aesthetic attraction of this book lies both in the specific radiance of each individual picture and in the juxtaposition of the photography.
