Nature’s refuge
Over the years grassland has started to disappear from municipal areas and the gardens we cultivate and park landscapes thanks to our endeavours.
Today, these unspoiled primeval pastures can only to be found tucked far away between fields, in clearings or wooded glades, along rivers or in
areas, which are difficult to cultivate or have rocky subsoil.
Wherever you find them, they store water, prevent erosion and provide an ever-dwindling habitat to a wide variety of grasses, flowers, mosses, herbs and shrubs. Whether spring, summer or fall, they offer our eyes a feast of scents and colours, rippling waves of red, yellow and blue.
And until the first snowfall comes, we can hear and see countless birds, insects and other creatures, which find nourishment in abundance for the coming winter at these untouched colourful havens of nature.
While out for a stroll we should enjoy these spectacular scenes of nature replete with various plants and animals as a silent observer without harming this habitat, for each of these meadows, whose the natural elements are touched by mankind, start to vanish forever piece by piece as the last remaining intact parts of our environment.
