Cats
For centuries cats have been living with us human beings. Maintained for the yard and barn, the domesticated descendants of the North African Caffre cat made themselves useful as a hunter of small mammals and birds in order to protect stored grains.
Since then our relationship to domesticated cats has undergone immense changes. Thus we longer see them just in rural areas but frequently in city households as well.
Long ago cats have captured our hearts also here. Whether purring contently next to us on the sofa, ducking and creeping along in the grass of the front garden or lazily sunning itself, chasing after insects, hissing and arching its back or wanting to retire, these felines always show us their will clearly. Those who understand and respect this will never be disappointed by their cat.
As natural descendants of wild independent creatures, our contemporary domestic cats still long for intimacy and distance, security and freedom to have their will. And it is exactly for this proud obstinacy that we love cats almost like no other pet.
